IBEX-30 now qualifies for a *FREE MOHL-Air & MOHL-Web Adapter Panel (total value: $19.98) when purchased directly from VANQUEST.com. No coupon code needed! *While supplies last

Measured at 22” (H) x 13" top / 12" bottom (W) x 8” top / 10” bottom (D), IBEX-30L is THE ultimate 30-liter multi-role backpack that “fillets-open” and gives you lightning-fast access to your gear. A continuous YKK #10 zipper opening with extra-large ITW zipperpulls offers you 270-degree top-to-bottom & front-to-back access to the foam-padded main compartment. Simple pull it open and you will have a full view of all gear laying right in front of you.

Delivered in a low profile package with an infinitely user-configurable main compartment, IBEX is both versatile and comfortable. Hook-and-loop panels line the inside of the foam-padded main compartment on all four walls allowing any configuration you may need.

Side compression straps adjust the width/thickness of the IBEX when needed, and prevent unintentional opening of the main compartment. Lockable YKK zippers provide additional security to your gear stored inside. Three built-in grab handles (one top, two sides) let you carry the IBEX in all three directions.

Like all Vanquest® products, IBEX is made with ultra-durable 1000-D Cordura® nylon, treated with water-repellent DuPont® Teflon for easy cleaning. Its construction means the IBEX-30 is up to any task in the field, and will be ready each time you need it.

IBEX's ergonomic & shock-absorbing shoulder straps come with load-lifters. Padded back with breathable mesh, adjustable sternum strap with an emergency side-release whistle, and a padded removable & height-adjustable waist belt further ensure the IBEX fits perfectly on you and let you carry heavy loads with comfort. The front panel features a hook-and-loop field with a shock-cord web to secure more of your gear on the outside.

Dual side pockets with YKK #8 zippers are ideal for hydration and radio storage. Each side pocket has an internal window opening for routing hydration hose or wire into the main compartment then exit to the main hose/wire port on the top backside of the IBEX. One-inch paracord loops for equipment suspension inside the side pockets are provided. MOLLE/PALS panels are found on the outside of the side pockets for additional attachment and expansion.

The shoulder strap can be used to swing the IBEX-30 to your front, and give you instant access to both the side or main compartment like our world-renowned VSlinger™ slingpacks.

  1. All around good backpack 4 Star Review

Posted by on 8th Oct 2017

I have to admit I am not an outdoor enthusiast however I am always in the market for a good bag to carry tech stuff. With that being said this isn't exactly meant for carrying tech (Laptops, iPads, tools etc...) The customizable nature of Vanquest however makes it fairly easy to adapt it.

  2. Best pack for arranging your own organizational scheme 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Sep 2017

Even if that's just to use it as a "bucket" (don't get me wrong -- it still will open all the way, clamshell/filet style)... but the hook and loop inside allows for arrangement of any number of pockets/pouches... you just have to come up with your own idea of ideal organization of your stuff. Along with the Mohl-Air hook and loop conversion (from Molle) sheets, this becomes my favorite pack.

  3. ECXEPTIONAL customerservice and product 5 Star Review

Posted by on 13th Jul 2017

I bought this bag from a Swiss retailer. To my surprise, a stitching at the bottom opened itself up. I wrote a mail to Vanquest. Vanquest responded within hours, that they would take care of the problem. So I waited. After 3 weeks, the postman surprised me with a package from the USA. Vanquest had sent me a new backpack, FREE OF CHARGE! We talking about at least 60$ of shipping here... Inside the bag was even a gift worth another 30$!
Shortly after, I received a very friendly email from Vanquest, saying that the new bag was inspected personally from a Vanquest representative. THAT is what I call customer service. The new bag has held up great. Vanquest customer for life now...

  4. Tough-Built 5 Star Review

Is now my EDD Bag. Holds all my duty gear and inslated lunch bag.

  5. 30L of flexible and tough carrying ability. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 13th May 2017

I got an Ibex 20 first, and it is a great size. This Ibex 30 is even better proportioned and with the increased size, even more versatile.

Typical high grade construction and materials from Vanquest, the Ibex 30 just expands the capacity of the 20. The Ibex 30 I got in May 2017 has the bottom Molle webbing like my 20, so you can lash a sleeping mat to the bottom or whatever. This is a great addition as the pictures do not show the bottom webbing. At over 6'tall, the hip belt is actually practical on this pack when moved all the way down, which is a surprise on a pack of this size as most are not.

The Ibex line is just such a fantastic general purpose pack system, I cannot see any real improvements for the line other than maybe a 40L size and other colors. Keep up the great work Vanquest!

  6. Best backpack EVER 5 Star Review

I own every model, it's a problem. This one is my favorite.

  7. Spotless quality 5 Star Review

Posted by on 30th Apr 2017

This pack exceeds all others I know of.

TL;DR: Previous day-to-day pack lasted for 20 years. Went to a shop, selected a new pack. It didn't even last 20 weeks. So I bought an IBEX-30, in 2016. Will buy again, see you in 20 years - *if* it shows any wear by then.

    Long version:
July 2016. Got IBEX-30. Quality: spotless.
Immediate mod: replace rubber zipper handle on main compartment with same rope as on other zippers. Now *all* zippers are single-hand-open/-close. Discard hip belt, I'm too tall.

Use pack every day. Day pack on holiday. Stuff into kayak hold. Stuffed full to gym. Carry-on plane (week trip, no other luggage, flat-open main zipper very useful). Bicycle commute books/papers + laptop to office...

    After ten months, this review.
Durability: pack looks like on day 1. Only wear is frill on the rope I added. What dirt it took from bicycle or holiday just seems to have fallen off after a couple of days.

Will get wet in heavy rain. Perhaps I should get a rain cover.

Excellent ergonomy. Pack sits well on back. Shoulder straps comfortable. Side straps keep load close to back. Does not stand on floor, but does remain upright when leaned against chair/wall. Stiff enough that flick of wrist opens zipper. With main zipper open, serves as top-load mobile office. 14" Laptop in its top-load bag fits in main compartment. Paper bloc + one or two books in easy reach.

In field, side handles + all-around zipper put complete content within reach, without even having to put pack down. (Hence little dirt.)

Best packing strategy: everything goes into main compartment. Lesser compartments for keys, pencil, phone.

Not tested: heavy load (bricks?); dragging through mud.

Would buy again. But I doubt I'll ever have to.

  9. Best pack on the market 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th Jan 2017

Over the years I've used many, many packs all of which have had their positives and negatives. This is the first pack I've yet to find a flaw in its design. Extremely versatile. Fully customizable. Can be used as hiking/camping pack, hunting pack, bug out bag, or how I've used it as aneeded adaptable range bag. Extremely rugged nylon, zippers, clasps, etc. The best quality I've had to date. It's ability to open fully gives access that no other bag can. Extremely comfortable under heavy loaduty for extended periods of time. Can't say enough good things.

  10. Love this pack, can't wait for version 2.0 4 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Dec 2016

I bought the Ibex-30 for a day pack for hunting, hiking and rifle matches. Love the pack. The build quality is excellent! Love the flexibility of putting different compartment on/in the pack. I played around with this pack for quit a while before deciding to keep it. It felt very uncomfortable and awkward on my taller frame. I must say it is much more comfortable the more weight you put in it. I even loaded it up with 50lbs of ammunition just to see and it was fine, at 20 lbs it is a joy!.

If there was anything I would change about this pack, it would only be minor improvements.
1)I am a bigger guy (6'1") and find the straps to be a little short, especially compared to my Vertx Gamut.
    2) A taller version would be awesome for larger people like me to help get the waist belt to be a hip belt.
3)A frame sheet like the Vertx Gamut would make this even more comfortable with different loads of gear.
4)It would be great if there were small pockets or even flaps at the bottom of the sides of the bag to stick the feet of bipod legs or shooting sticks into. A full water bottle pocket is not needed with the large dual hydration pockets but just something to stop things strapped to the side from wanting to slip down.

It also would be great if Vanquest made a rain cover to go along with this pack as I plan to use this in some pretty harsh weather. A generic one from REI will have to do in the mean time.

All-in-all I love the pack! Built with great quality and exceptional flexibility. I even bought the Ibex-20 for a smaller pack for rifle matches where I would want a minimal yet highly organized load-out.I would highly recommend this pack and would certainly buy a couple more if a few modifications were made.
