TRIDENT-31 backpack is the big brother of our very popular TRIDENT-20™ backpack in a larger, more versatile form. You wear it like a backpack, with the option of quick-access from the side, just like a sling pack

The new TRIDENT-31 is 31 liters in total capacity (10 liters larger than the TRIDENT-20), with improved shoulder straps, extra back panel padding and a removable, padded waist belt with pull-forward adjustment. You can now comfortably carry more gear and heavier loads.

Padded main compartment and four dividers provide extra protection for your EDC (everyday carry) items, photography gear, or range gear and a dedicated laptop sleeve that can hold a 17" laptop. You can access the interior from top or left side, and like a sling pack, you can quickly get to your gear by swinging the backpack to your front. Total 44 pockets and slots to organize your gear.

Durable, laser-cut Hypalon MOLLE-Air panels are found on either side of the pack. An expandable collapsible side water-bottle pocket can also support a tripod when used with the included elastic tie down point.

High-visibility 210-D ripstop nylon interior helps you find things in low-light conditions. Dual hydration system (hydration/CCW compartment, and main compartment) let you carry up to 6 liters of water at once. Hydration hoses can be anchored to the left or right shoulder strap.

Low profile MOLLE-Air structure is MOLLE-compatible, and loop-covered for ID patches. Many interior loop fields for CCW and internal organization.

With its genuine 1000-D mil-grade Cordura® fabric (500-D Cordura® on Multicam-Black) coated in DuPont® Teflon®, ITW/Duraflex hardware, and lockable YKK® zippers, TRIDENT-31 is a day pack ready to handle any tough situation.

    Superb quality

Posted by Slaughter on 6th Oct 2018

I never heard of this company until I started looking for a bag to replace my 5.11 covrt18. I’ve had this bag a little over a week and the details and quality of construction are excellent. I would say better than my maxpedition or 5.11 gear. The bag keeps it shape when empty which is a welcome change from others that end up looking like a pile of nylon when empty. Tons of options to organize. Love the orange interior! Every time I unzip a compartment, it’s like I turned a light on in the pocket. My 15 inch laptop fits snug on width but extra room on top. The water bottle pocket design is the best I’ve EVER seen. My only concern is how the padding that gives the bag it’s shape and Velcro used for the dividers holds up over the years. I’m so impressed with this dag that I will end up making a YouTube video to show it off:) Well done Vanquest.

    Trident 31

Posted by Nicholas H. Portland, OR on 20th Sep 2018

I bought this backpack on a whim for an upcoming Alaska hunting trip I had planned, I wanted a durable bag to carry my cameras and lenses around safely with enough room for the other hiking necessities while up in the mountains.

This bag exceeded my expectations in every way imaginable. Extremely comfortable, durable, plenty of space, outstanding protection for cameras and laptops (slipped many times) all while being compact enough to carry anywhere.

Very satisfied and I will definitely buy again and recommend to all!

    Awesome Pack

Posted by Taylor on 28th Aug 2018

This is the best pack on earth. Companies like TAD, HPG, Mystery Ranch, Vertyx, Hazard4 etc all overcharge for generic cheap packs. Sure, Vanquest makes their gear in Vietnam but the quality blows away any US made bag. ANY! GoRuck is a fucking cult that makes tombstone style packs (AKA Jansport) that are so generic and cost +$300, fuck outta here... Any bag from Vanquest I can guarantee that the quality is above other industry competitors. Their designs are actually useful and all bags (Almost) are padded. They do need to do a couple things. 1. Start marketing your company or else you're going to lose. That's not an assumption, I researched for a month or so before I found Vanquest. Most people research for 10 min and buy the cheapest/main stream option. GET YOUR NAME OUT THERE! 2. Update the style. The packs are very EDC/outdoor related. With their quality, they need to have some updated design/style that will let the pack fit into an office environment and allow people like myself to rep nice gear that makes sense in that environment. HIPSTERS are a good market! At the very least, make a red or blue backpack or use heathered material that breaks up the solid color, and maybe have a less tactical bag that doesn't have molle thrown up all over it. That aside, the quality of their packs far surpass any other pack I've owned from the above-mentioned companies and cost significantly less. The guys who work there are also really cool. I called in a couple times to check on inventory and Mike and Taylor were rock stars. Ive had the pack for about a year and am finally remembering to write this because after that much time I am still super excited to put the pack on. 10/10

    Outstanding Backpack for Photo Gear

Posted by Charles Camp on 8th Jul 2018

I have purchased several backpacks over the past few years, always searching for the perfect one to haul my photo gear. I believe that I have now found it. The ability to load long zoom lenses left-to-right through the "side load" opening is an ideal arrangement and creates a well-balanced and easily accessible load. On my most recent trip, I hauled a Sony A7R3 with 24-105 f/4 attached, plus the Sony 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 loaded in the pack directly below it. I also hauled a Benro monopod, various filters, cleaning accessories, water bottles, sunglasses, etc. I loaded quite a bit of heavy gear into this pack, but the customizible dividers let me pack it all very efficiently, with easy access, and without any pain or discomfort. The design of the "zipper path" at the side of the pack is nothing short of brilliant, and overall the pack seems virtually indestructible. Bravo, Vanquest - brains AND brawn. You have a real winner with your Trident-31.

Forget all other backpacks. Get this one!

Posted by Andrew on 3rd Jun 2018

I bought this pack for my photography equipment when going out for photo shoots. I typically carry my camera and a spare lens for shooting. Then I keep my tripod strapped to the bottom of the pack. I also bring some first aid items, basic EDC items and a water bottle with me. I’m never too far away from civilization but better safe than sorry. It’s such a comfortable pack with the hip strap and the build quality blows me away. Other brands that have a larger hold of the industry don’t compare in quality and price. I’d rather spend my money with Vanquest and know I’m getting great products than spend 3 times the money elsewhere. The organization it comes with is also better than most every other manufacturer I’ve used. I will say, Vanquest needs to market their products better. I researched for about 2.5 months looking for specific features in my pack and this pack checked everything off I wanted. But I honestly didn’t find them for over 2 months... Most people won’t wait that long but hot damn am I glad I did. Don’t let the dated website fool you, this gear is industry leading.

    Close to perfect

Posted by Unknown on 4th May 2018

Got my Trident 31 about 3 months ago and been using it frequently. There's a lot to love so far, my only criticisms:

    - The side strap over the main zipper is a puzzling design decision. Other than maybe keeping the zippers in place while traveling I have no idea what that thing is supposed to do. One of those ideas that maybe sounded good on paper but once you use the pack a lot it's mostly in the way.

    - Rigid and smallish main compartment: this is both a pro and a con in that the rigidity and padding in the main compartment really makes this thing shine as a camera bag. But for other applications like edc/gym bag/travel it's a bit restrictive.

To me the ultimate pack would be based on this but with a zippered expandable main compartment and 4 compression straps (2x per side) instead of that one weird strap on the side. This way when you are using it for say, travel instead of a camera bag you can expand the main compartment and really cram it full and take advantage of the awesome strap/hip belt system while fully loaded down with gear.

Overall it's a great camera bag and a good bag for other things to boot.

Pro tip: remove all the velcro dividers if you use this thing for travel and need the space, those things just get in the way unless you are using them for camera/lenses/flashes etc.

    Organizers Dream!

Posted by Chief on 13th Apr 2018

I have collected backpacks for over a decade (dont judge) from almost every company. Always changing them out because of lifestyle i.e. gym/work/school/travel.
Had Trident 31 for over a month and no longer need to switch out. I am always on the go and never home. Work and College Requires me to carry a lot of books, equipment, and laptop. The weight distribution for the Trident is insane , feels like I am hardly carrying anything. Padding on shoulder straps is comfortable. Video reviews don’t do it justice. The pockets (so many) make it easy to be organized. Quality is above all the others.
